Is there a monthly fee?
No. You buy the kit once. There's no subscription and no monthly fee to use it.
Does it keep working if my internet goes down?
Yes. Your kit runs on a hub in your home, not on a cloud service. Your automations and controls keep working even when the internet is out. You'll just lose remote access from outside the house until it's back.
Is my data private?
Your home runs locally on its own hub. It isn't streaming your activity to a company's cloud to work. You stay in control of your devices in your own home.
Do I control it from my phone?
Yes — it works with the Apple Home app on your iPhone or iPad, the same app you may already use. (Domi isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.)
What about Android?
TODO(parker): decide and write the Android support stance.
Can I use this if I rent?
The sensors, plugs, and hub are all removable and leave no damage, so they work well in a rental. Smart light switches and the garage controller involve installation, so check with your landlord before adding those.
Will the garage controller work with my opener?
The garage controller supports LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 openers. Please check that your opener is a LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 model before ordering a kit with garage control.
Who installs the light switches?
Domi does not do electrical work. Smart light switches are installed by you or a licensed electrician. The in-home setup visit does not include wiring.
What's the warranty or return policy?
TODO(parker): write the warranty and return terms, then legal-review them.
Where do you deliver?
Utah County, Utah — towns like Lehi, Provo, Orem, American Fork, Eagle Mountain, and Saratoga Springs. Kits are delivered locally, with an optional in-home setup visit.
Can someone come look at my home first?
Yes. We offer a free in-home consultation in Utah County. We'll walk through your home with you, check things like your garage door opener, and recommend the kit that fits, with no obligation to buy. Book one from the Reserve page.
What's actually inside? (for the curious)
Under the hood it's Home Assistant running on a local hub, with Zigbee sensors and switches. You don't need to know any of that to use it — everything is paired, named, and set up before it reaches you. (Domi isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Home Assistant / Nabu Casa.)
